Ottawa Christmas in September

As we begin to say goodbye to the carefree days and long evenings of summer, where a lot of our time is focused on enjoying the outdoors, and the company of our families, thoughts return to the routine of school as we flip that calendar into September.  I always can’t help but feeling a little nostalgic as we enter this time of year, as we say goodbye to summer and to the memories that we have created together  this year- the kids grow so fast, and I am reminded again about how temporary, in the grand scheme of things, childhood is.   My daughter now is grown, but I am often in the company of young families, photographing them- and am well reminded how quick the transition from toddler to teenager goes.  The days where your day is their day are short- but undeniably sweet.
